It all began on a rainy Wednesday afternoon, when Scorpio found a suspicious text on her husband Pisces’ phone. Sitting alone in their cozy living room, the sound of rain tapping against the windows, Scorpio felt a pang of anxiety twist in her stomach. The text was from someone named “Libra,” and it read, “Can’t wait to see you tonight. Same place?”
“Pisces!” Scorpio called out, trying to keep her voice steady. “Who’s Libra?”
Pisces, in the middle of tying his shoes, glanced up and smiled innocently. “Oh, just a colleague from work. We’re working on a new project together. Nothing to worry about, honey.”
But Scorpio wasn’t convinced. After Pisces left for the evening, supposedly for a “work meeting,” Scorpio’s mind raced. She decided to take matters into her own hands. Grabbing her coat, she followed him, determined to uncover the truth.
As she tailed Pisces through the wet, glistening streets, her heart pounded with a mix of fear and anticipation. She kept her distance, watching as he entered a small, dimly lit café. From a shadowy corner across the street, she could see him greet a woman with a warm hug. This must be Libra, Scorpio thought, feeling a surge of anger and betrayal.
The next day, Scorpio confided in her best friend, Gemini, over coffee. Gemini, always the practical joker, couldn’t resist making light of the situation.
“So, darling, are you thinking of applying for a job as a private detective after this?” Gemini teased, winking.
“Very funny, Gemini. I just don’t understand why Pisces would hide something from me,” Scorpio replied, frustration evident in her voice.
Gemini leaned in, her tone becoming serious. “Look, if you’re really worried, you need to get to the bottom of this. But remember, it might not be what you think.”
Determined, Scorpio decided to spy on Pisces again the following evening. This time, she followed him to an old, rundown building. She waited in the shadows, her breath visible in the chilly night air. As she watched, Pisces and Libra disappeared inside.
Quietly, Scorpio approached the building and slipped in through a side door. She followed the sound of their voices down a dimly lit corridor until she reached a door slightly ajar. Peeking through the gap, she saw something that made her heart skip a beat.
Inside the room was not a romantic rendezvous, but a group of children seated in a circle, laughing and clapping. Pisces stood at the center, wearing a clown nose and juggling colorful balls while Libra played the guitar.
Scorpio’s jaw dropped. “What on earth…?” she whispered to herself.
Pisces spotted her from the corner of his eye and excused himself from the group. He stepped outside, closing the door behind him. “Scorpio! What are you doing here?”
“I… I followed you,” Scorpio admitted, feeling both relief and embarrassment. “I thought you were having an affair!”
Pisces burst into laughter. “An affair? With Libra? No, sweetheart. Libra and I run a volunteer program for underprivileged kids. We put on shows and teach them fun activities. I didn’t tell you because I wanted it to be a surprise for our anniversary.”
Scorpio’s face turned red. “I feel so silly now.”
Pisces smiled, pulling her into a hug. “Don’t be. I’m just glad you know the truth now. And hey, since you’re here, want to join us?”
Scorpio hesitated, then nodded, a smile spreading across her face. “Why not? But I have to warn you, I’m terrible at juggling.”
Pisces laughed. “That’s okay. The kids will love you anyway.”
The following week, Scorpio and Pisces sat in their kitchen, sipping coffee. Scorpio couldn’t help but joke about the whole situation.
“So, are there any other secret hobbies I should know about? Moonlighting as a magician, perhaps?” she teased.
Pisces chuckled. “Not unless you count my impressive ability to burn toast.”
“Ah, yes. The great toast debacle of 2023. How could I forget?” Scorpio laughed, shaking her head.
As the days passed, Scorpio found herself looking forward to their evenings at the volunteer center. She loved seeing the joy on the children’s faces and felt a renewed sense of closeness with Pisces.
One night, as they were preparing to leave, one of the children tugged on Scorpio’s sleeve. “Are you Pisces’ wife?”
Scorpio smiled down at the little girl. “Yes, I am.”
“He’s always talking about you. He says you’re the funniest person he knows,” the girl said with a toothy grin.
Scorpio glanced at Pisces, who shrugged sheepishly. “Guilty as charged.”
“Well, in that case,” Scorpio said, ruffling the girl’s hair, “I’ll have to live up to my reputation. How about I tell you a joke?”
The children gathered around, eyes wide with anticipation. Scorpio cleared her throat and began, “Why did the scarecrow win an award?”
The children looked puzzled. “Why?” they chorused.
“Because he was outstanding in his field!” Scorpio delivered the punchline, earning a round of giggles and applause.
Pisces wrapped his arm around Scorpio’s shoulders. “You see, I knew they’d love you.”
As they walked home that night, Scorpio felt lighter than she had in weeks. The rain had stopped, leaving the streets glistening under the streetlights. She looked up at Pisces, feeling a wave of gratitude.
“Thank you for being so patient with me, my love,” she said softly. “And for the best surprise I could have asked for.”
Pisces squeezed her hand. “Thank you for trusting me too, sweetie. And for reminding me that sometimes, a little laughter is all we need.”
With a new sense of trust and a shared purpose, Scorpio and Pisces’ bond grew stronger than ever. They continued their volunteer work, finding joy in the simplest moments and laughing together every chance they got.
And from that rainy Wednesday afternoon onwards, Scorpio learned that sometimes, the unexpected secrets in life could bring the greatest blessings.
